Well in 1991 OTTO acquired a majority holding in Grattan plc which also included niche mail order brands such as Look Again, which specialises in younger fashions, and Kaleidoscope catering for the mature market with high quality fashion wear. Then in 1999 we added to our business with the purchase of Freemans plc. The new millennium saw OTTO UK combine the activities of both Grattan and Freemans under the leadership of a newly formed Management Team, and OTTO UK Home Shopping was formed.
The year 2000 also saw the launch of Parcelnet Ltd, the UK group’s distribution company. Today Parcelnet operates from 18 depots across the UK and delivers more than 96 million parcels every year, direct to customers’ doors. So successful is the Parcelnet operation it also provides third party distribution services for clients such as Next Directory and Lakeland Limited.
