Our client an established value retailer of affordable women’s fashions is looking for an assistant merchandiser to join there head office team.
Objective
To assist the Merchandiser in the day-to-day running of the department, and to help in the planning, management and optimisation of sales, stock, markdown and profit.
Responsibilities will include:
•To manage the supply base, monitoring commitment and intake, maintaining close working relationships with the Supplier to help minimise lead times, create flexibility and improve product availability.
•To assist the Merchandiser by regularly and accurately re-forecasting sales and intake at line and category level and to effect those changes in the COMPASS merchandise planning system.
•Liaise with the Stock Distribution department to improve the accuracy of branch allocation and replenishment.
•Ensure optimum new store range availability.
•To regularly forecast and re-forecast core lines, maintaining 100% availability while minimising stockholding.
•Coordinate with IT, Stock Distribution and Marketing to ensure that markdown and / or promotional activities are communicated to stores clearly, promptly and effectively.
•Ensure all ranging amendments are actioned and updated in a timely manner on the appropriate range plan / merchandising system.
•To undertake a minimum of 15 branch visits per year
•Any other ad hoc duties as requested by the Merchandiser.
Selection Criteria:
•Previous Merchandising experience required
•IT literate
