A leading organisation based in Leeds are looking for a Financial Controller who can take hold of all financial aspects of the business whilst slowly taking on general management responsibilities. The company are currently going through a period of significant growth and are looking for a confident and customer focused individual who can take control of the company's finances and has the potential to manage all internal-facing aspects of the business covering both the office and warehouse . The ideal candidate for this role will have relevant professional accounting qualifications, experience within an accountancy practice, and proven managerial skills.
The Role:
In this full-time permanent position the Financial Controller will initially be taking hold of the Finance and Accounts Team carrying out the following functions:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts to include financial reporting and KPIs
* Supervision of weekly and monthly payroll and related areas
* Preparation of Annual Payroll returns
* Supervision of bookkeeper and the nominal ledger
* Supervision of Purchase Ledger Clerks and the purchase ledger in general
* Supervision of credit control and the sales ledger in general
* Supervision of Bank reconciliation
* Supervision of VAT returns
* Preparation of Annual Budget, Financial Forecasts and Cash Flow Statements
* Preparation of Company Secretarial documentation and Statutory Returns
As the role developed the post holder will be working with and training under the current General Manager, in order to take over his duties, to enable him to take on more management responsibility. You will be reporting directly to the board and will be required to carry out the following functions:
* Manage all "internal-facing" aspects of the business covering both the office and the warehouse/workshop
* Direct management of Operations Manager and Office Manager
* Effective budget management and forecasting for all internal operations
* Ensure standard processes are carried out as required throughout the business - on-time delivery, high quality production, stock ordering, stock take, order processing; end-of-month reporting; customer complaints
* Responsible for developing and taking on a HR role in the company including identifying training and development needs
* Take on overall responsibility as Quality Manager under the ISO 9001 certification
* Promote and ensure high levels of customer service across the business

We are looking for a strong, talented individual who has relevant accounting qualifications. Experience of working for an accountancy / private practice is ESSENTIAL. The ideal candidate will have a good commercial awareness and proven people and team managerial skills. We are particularly looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring high quality performance in all areas of the business and who will uphold company policies and procedures. Ideally this individual will also have a proven customer services track record.
