Our client, a well established manufacturer in Bradford, is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a “hands on” Purchasing Professional looking to join a progressive organisation and make positive long term changes.
The role
Based in Bradford, but with some requirement for UK travel, this role has responsibility for a £4m budget, and procurement of all purchasing requirements of the organisation, from stationery upwards.
A strong initial feature of this role will be the auditing of all existing suppliers and their offering, re-negotiating contracts and sourcing alternatives where necessary, to impact bottom line growth.
The Key Performance Indicators attached to this role would include the following:
Cost down achievements
Reduction of rejects and returns
“Just In Time” delivery performance
Reduction of average stock holding
Lean and re-organised purchasing office function
The ideal candidate will
Be CIPS qualified ideally, but this is not essential
Be available to spend some time away from home to travel to the organisation Head Office
Have a very “hands on” attitude to purchasing
Automatically challenge procedures and conventions in a professional manner
Have strong negotiating skills
This role will attract a salary of £30,000 plus bonuses based on KPI achievements, plus company pension.
