Title: Export / International Sales
Location: Leeds City Centre
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Commission: Uncapped
ROLE OVERVIEW
Developing and maintaining sales into export markets, in line with the forecast, to increase the range of products sold into the territory and initiate commercial / technical initiatives with new and existing customers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Resonsible for the growth of sales into export markets through the development of existing business and generating new business
Visiting existing customers and potential customers on a time / interval basis as agreed with the Export Manager.
Negotiating with customers and quoting prices as a result.
Projecting a professional and competent image and efficiently dealing with all customer enquiries.
Introducing new products / concepts to customers.
Completing accurate, concise reports of all visits and conversations with customers promptly.
Receiving and accurately documenting orders by telephone, fax, email or post.
Following up samples and quotations with customers.
Achieving a high level of commercial awareness including but not limited to:
*Pricing policy and product range.
*Customers, their offtake and business.
*Competitors and competitive activity.
*Basic understanding of products and their applications.
Ensuring that any discrepancy, change or difficulty in ability to meet any customer order is communicated speedily to the customer and resolution obtained wherever possible.
Ensuring that technical requests, complaints, sample requests and general enquiries are efficiently, accurately and promptly actioned.
Visiting customers according to need, bearing in mind potential and actual business.
Writing comment, accurate and concise letters, faxes and reports.
Creating and update the certificate routing system for all customers.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
A background in Sales is essential with the ability to generate new business as well as developing existing customers.
It is also essential to have either a background in Export / International markets or experience in the Chemicals industry.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required.
It is a must to be self motivated and have the ability to work on own initiative
KEY CRITERIA
Standard hours: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm
International travel: Approximately 1 week per month
Holidays rising to 25 days per year
