The role will involve working with a small team of engineers across a large range of disciplines collaborating with numerous departments and clients both in the UK and abroad. The Design Engineer will be initially responsible for design/drawing modifications to aid the day-to-day running of the Engineering department, and working with the rest of the team on new designs and future development projects. The Design Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager who will assign tasks, but expect initiative from the team.
Given the nature of the role and business, the applicant must be highly adaptable and willing to learn quickly. There is a strong focus on prioritising work with flexibility to resolve urgent issues quickly and efficiently. A practical hands-on approach is a must in order to fit this criteria.
Essential Skills:
Mechanical/Structural Engineering background (preferably to BEng degree level or similar, although relevant experience will also be considered)
Experience with 3D/2D CAD, preferably Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Proficient use of Microsoft Office 2003/2007, mainly Excel and Outlook
Analytical problem solving
Confident, adaptable and willing to learn
Desired Skills:
Experience with MathCAD
Additional Languages (Chinese/Arabic/French/Spanish/German)
