    Title: Part-time Finance and Compliance Officer (8 Month Maternity Cover Contract)

    Salary: £20,000 FTE

    Based in Leeds city centre, the Finance and Compliance Officer will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure efficient and effective operations in compliance with contractual and organisational requirements. This role would suit someone with experience of public funding and an understanding of audit and file evidence for public funding.

    The Role:
    The Finance and Compliance Officer will be responsible for dealing with funding: preparing budgets for funding applications, preparing reports and forecasts on existing funding and liaising with project managers on financial and contractual matters, preparing financial reports to funder requirements and ensure sufficient audit evidence, and preparing other information as required by funders and to assist in the preparation of information for audit. This role also involves dealing with awards: providing financial and contractual support for funded projects by processing, checking and administering all applications and corresponding with applicants, preparing Committee papers and committee minutes for approval by the Head of Finance, monitoring all grants and investments to ensure conditions of funding are being met by the recipients, and reviewing and updating information in the grants management database. In addition to this you will be assisting in the introduction of new procedures across the organisation and the documenting of those procedures, assisting with the procurement procedures of the organisation and to ensure compliance with public procurement regulations, and assisting with the administrative functions of the organisation in an effective and efficient manner.

    Who we're looking for:
    We are looking for a someone who has experience of public funding and an understanding of audit and file evidence for public funding. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organised and efficient. You must be available to start work immediately and will be available until at least March 2008.

    Hours:
    28 hours a week over 4 day. The hours are flexible.
