Temporary contract until March 2009. Our client, a big lottery funded project, currently require an experienced and effective project manager. Ideally with a good understanding of youth volunteering, who can rapidly get to grips with and complete the delivery of 2 project work plans to ensure that both are completed on time and to a high standard. The project has been a 3 year programme of work to lay the foundations for the development of student volunteering in further education.
Requires project management skills including setting and meeting clear targets and outcomes. Skilled in maintaining positive partnerships locally and regionally. Ability to work unsupervised when working in Leeds whilst maintaining good links with the team based in London. Analytical, prioritising and decisions making skills. Ability to present written information in a structured and balanced way appropriate to the needs of the reader. Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills.
Proficient in Word processing, spreadsheets and databases, preferably in a Windows environment. Carrying out monitoring and evaluation of projects. Writing, editing and production of reports and other information and publicity materials. Managing staff including supervising, supporting and motivating. Managing or working with youth volunteers. Organising and managing events, particularly volunteering events.
Management of the project budget. Overseeing the production, launch and promotion of the final publication including, if possible, collection of initial evaluation data on its usefulness to the further education sector. Completion of evaluation reports on the further education colleagues worked with during the project. Internal evaluation of project. Organising and chairing the final project steering the group meeting on the 28th October. Final reporting to the big lottery funding including financial information. Completion of event report from the recent further education volunteering symposium work. Carry out management, supervision and development of the youth volunteer advisor to ensure high quality service delivery and achievement of the project plan. Sustain positive partnerships that have already been created and ensure that targets set for each collaborative activity are achieved. Develop, oversee, monitor and evaluate volunteering opportunities and volunteering events that feature in the workplan. Liaise with all members of workers in student community volunteering in the region to identify good practice, work collaboratively on planned projects and events, identify students suitable for the student volunteers network and create case studies for other areas of volunteering England's work.
