Responsible for the site’s adherence to health and safety and environmental policies and legislation.
NEBOSH General Certificate / Level 3 or above Health & Safety qualification desirable
Experience in H&S/Environmental in a manufacturing environment.
Up to date with current Legislation.
Organisational and time-management skills
Good Communication Skills (Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.)
Training skills to disseminate company policy/procedures to site, and deliver organised training sessions.
IT literacy desirable.
Ensure the continuous adherence of the site with health and safety and environmental
policies, as well as legislation.
Ensure compliance is being met and advising managers in omissions.
Work closely with the Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager and/or Health and Safety Compliance Managers to help promote, develop, devise and monitor Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Co-ordination and completion of site risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Co-ordination of site accident management process, including the control and update of the HS Manager accident-recording system.
Ensure that the reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations are adhered to.
Ensure the effective investigation of all lost time accidents, from accident to claims management.
Ensure that all emergency evacuation procedures are recorded, followed and practiced and that the requirements of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order are followed in their entirety.
Provide advice & guidance to colleagues on all health & safety related matters.
Audit site adherence to policy/procedures according to requirements, including fire safety provisions, and co-ordination of annual inspections of all fire extinguishers, as well as retaining records.
Assist in third party visits, such as Fire Brigade, HSE, Insurers, Customer audits, etc.
Assist in co-ordination of Health & Safety committees.
Delivery of Health & Safety training to meet site requirements as and when required.
