My client a leading manufacturing company within the machine tool industry is looking to recruit an individual that will ensure high plant availability throughout the business. This includes responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment, maintaining engineering standards, development of equipment and monitoring of plant reliability and costs. Two positions available one Mechanical bias, one Electrical.
The main responsibilities of the position are to:
Ensure the processing plant has the highest possible level of engineering availability at all times.
Fully understand engineering requirements and liaise with both internal and external contract engineers, ensuring repairs are promptly completed and machine availability is maximised.
Monitor plant delays and budgets so to identify potential plant improvements and cost reductions.
Develop plant and equipment to increase machine availability, reduce cost to the business and improve H,S & E.
Investigate plant breakdowns through root cause analysis and implement actions to prevent re-occurrence..
Manage engineering activities to comply with Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
Implement and control engineering safe working practices, to prevent accidents, plant failure and loss of production.
The ideal candidate will have:
An education to HNC / HND or higher with experience of a range of engineering and manufacturing operations with a strong mechanical engineering background.
Apprentice trained
An established background in FMCG environments
A proven ability to solve problems through investigation and application of sound solutions.
Good communication, planning, organising and management skills.
