Design Engineer
Bradford, West Yorkshire
UPTO £24,000 + Benefits
The company is a young and growing company, that is now looking to recruit a design engineer to apply modern design methods to their unique products.
Reporting to the Technical Director. The role is varied and challenging within a modern design, assembly and distribution manufacturing process, involving local, national and international supply chains.
Role:
Design:
• Product and component design engineering using Solidworks 3D Solid Modelling CAD software.
• Conceptual design through to manufacturing. The ability to be able to communicate the design specification using sketches and CAD.
• Continual product improvement and cost down process.
• Wide range of material knowledge and expertise – steel, wood, plastics and upholstery.
• Hands on role, actively involved with new product launches and product improvements within manufacturing environment.
• Room planning and layout design.
• New product samples and photography.
Technical:
• BOM (Bill of Materials creation and maintenance using Sage Accounts and Manufacturing software)
• Supplier liaison and development, involving the commissioning of quotations and the raising of purchase orders.
• ISO 9001 system deployment, covering any non-conforming new or existing components.
• Product Technical file writing and product testing to national, international and internal standards.
• The creation and development of External Product User Instructions and labels.
• The creation and development of Internal Product Assembly Operating Instructions.
The ability to work on own initiative, and have the know how to take this role and make it your own is essential.
