The Commercial Services team has a market leading reputation with clients extending across the public and private sectors. Its lawyers are experienced in structuring complex, large-scale, high value transactions, working with clients in construction, IT, telecommunications, facilities management and the provision of major services. In particular, it has played a leading role in developing PFI projects in the health and education sector notably having gained a leading reputation in working with NHS Foundation Trusts and holding advisory appointments under the Building Schools for the Future legal panel. The team operates on a client focused basis as follows:- Health Commercial: Concentrating on the requirements of the firms prestigious NHS client base delivering a range of commercial and procurement advisory services frequently working with colleagues in commercial property, employment and other practice groups Public Sector Commercial – Concentrating on the requirements of Central and Local Government again delivering a range of commercial and procurement advisory services and also working with colleagues in other practice groups. The team also provides advice to private sector clients bidding to win partnering relationships with the public sector and with clients in the facilities management sector.
Range of duties include:
· Mixture of routine and more complex administrative tasks.
· Will produce documents as directed by others, e.g. dictation – the firm working from a digital dictation system.
· Will produce more complex documents/output, e.g. complex reports, presentations.
· Will produce documentation to meet client protocols.
· Will need to use a range of software application, e.g. excel spreadsheets,
· May compose straightforward responses to incoming correspondence for others to sign.
· May compose and sign some correspondence.
· May be required to carry out some basic research/collate information for meetings.
· May carry out more detailed research/collate information for meetings.
· Will be required to organise meetings.
· Will be required to take minutes of meetings.
· Will be expected to field queries in respect of work in the area, which they would pass on to others to deal with in most cases (i.e. they would not be
expected to know the answers or resolve the queries).
· Will control the diaries of one or more senior person, typically organising travel
itineraries etc.
· May be required to oversee the quality of secretarial work produced in the area and assist with workflow control.
· May deal with sensitive and/or confidential matters.
The Person
Level of knowledge and experience required upon starting the position:
· Commercial experience is essential.
· PC key board / mouse skills to use Word – open/close/save/print/formatting.
· Proficient audio typing skills
