The Role:
To provide a technical/design engineering service to the Group on projects, as directed by the Associate/Associate Director.
This appointment is for a position in the aviation sector group. As well as gaining experience and developing your skills as a structural engineer, you will also gain specialist knowledge in the aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake detailed engineering design
Prepare technical schedules
Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work
Work closely with and monitor performance of Technician (as appropriate)
Under guidance of senior staff, represent the consultancy at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers.
Ensure service and project work is carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget.
Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met.
Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.
Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team.
Ensuring all relevant staff are informed of client matters.
Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients and Consultancys best interests and that policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
Actively work towards Chartered Engineering status.
Mentor and assist Graduate Engineers
Commitment to CPD and self learning / development
Person Specification:
My client is looking for an engineer with proven experience in the building structures environment who is looking to become Chartered within the next two years.
You will form part of an award winning engineering consultancy in the structural engineering team of over 30 technical staff working on high profile project with leading architects.
Projects include hotel / retail / commercial mixed use city centre regeneration, apartment buildings, stadium and entertainment venues, further education and university buildings, healthcare facilities, as well as historic and listed building refurbishment.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (BEng) in Engineering plus typically 3 years relevant work experience or equivalent
Or
Masters degree (MEng) in Engineering plus typically 2 years work experience or equivalent
Or
Degree in Engineering that meets the engineering academic requirements for chartered engineer plus typically 3 years relevant work experience or equivalent.
