Personal Assistant with Disabled Students
(Fixed term from 8 Sept 2008 to 21 June 2009, precise hours of work to be arranged with the Department)
This post involves the provision of non-medical assistance to disabled students using the scheme, enabling them to live and study as independently as possible.
Personal Assistants support disabled students by providing assistance in the academic environment, social support, and domestic help as appropriate, and as directed by the Scheme Co-ordinator in conjunction with the student. Light personal support such as assistance with feeding and toileting on campus may also be required.
We want to expand the ‘pool’ of Personal Assistants working sessional (regular and ad-hoc) hours throughout the 2008-2009 academic year.
The proposed start date for these positions is Monday 8 September 2008. You will be required to attend a number of training sessions which will run from week commencing Monday 8 September. Full details will be confirmed at interview. These posts are fixed term of 41 weeks.
University Grade 3 commencing at £7.96 per hour
