Title: CNC Miller Location: Knaresborough Salary: £12.00 per hour Benefits: See below THE COMPANY This company is a leading sub contract manufacturer with a reputation for top quality and service. They produce machined parts, kits of parts and assemblies for leading companies in the UK, USA, Mainland Europe, Japan and Korea. They specialise in the design and manufacture of orthopaedic instruments and supporting OEMs in the aerospace, electronics, microwave, laser, defence and sub sea markets. They work within ISO9001:2001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems and are recognised as an Investor in People. Due to demand, this award-winning firm is now expanding and has a vacancy for a CNC Miller. THE ROLE 1. To read drawings and interpret these. 2. Making fixtures where appropriate 3. To operate one or more CNC Machining Centres checking work as it comes off the machine 4. To set up new jobs (most of the work is complex prismatic milling in short runs) 5. To load, examine and modify CNC programs to give a good output of quality work 6. To work to process sheets and to document the work done accurately and comprehensively 7. To make positive contributions to the Milling Team helping colleagues and taking part in Team Briefings as appropriate and checking first offs for others. 8. To maintain and develop expertise in Heidenhain and Fanuc control systems 9. Ideally to utilise 4th axis and on machine probing 10. To make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy Machine Types 1. Bridgeport 1500, 800 and 760 (7 off) 2. Matsuura Horizontal and Vertical (4 off) 3. Doosan 540 Hours Of Work Early shift 06.00 - 14.15 Monday to Friday Late shift 14.00 - 00.30 Monday to Thursday EXPERIENCE REQUIRED You must be an apprentice trained or time-served CNC Miller. You must be able to work from engineering drawings. Experience with Fanuc and Heidenhain is preferable.
