Job Description

EMIS provides remote technical support to GP Practices all over the UK. These GP Practices are using a number of software applications developed by EMIS.

EMIS Support Department are currently recruiting for Software Support Consultants. As Software Support Consultants, you will be responsible for providing application support for our primary care software to our NHS users

Software Support Responsibilities:

  • Providing remote application support to our software users via phone, e-mail and using remote support tools
  • Ensuring that Incidents are resolved within operational Service Levels
  • Providing professional and customer focused responses to software support queries
  • Be able to communicate clearly at all levels from end-user to Senior Management
  • Ensuring the support call details are up to date and are accurate.

Essential Skills:

  • A logical approach to troubleshooting when resolving technical problems in an IT environment
  • Experience of working in application support or in a Service Desk team
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal, at the user level and at the technical level
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English

Skills / experience in any of the following would be of benefit:

  • ITIL Foundation
  • NHS and Primary Care
  • Networking Technologies (WAN / LAN)
  • Windows Server 2000/2003/2008, Windows XP/Vista/7
  • SQL Server Management
  • Basic SQL Programming
