Job Description

An experienced Junior Sous Chef required by this luxurious and beautiful Michelin rated country house hotel.

It is within the busy restaurant that a competent Junior Sous Chef with experience in all sections of the kitchen is required. Joining a small, but clearly well established brigade, the successful candidate must be flexible and dedicated to producing food their exceptionally high standards. Offering a novel approach to cuisine, the menu is delicious, yet simple and proves to be a popular combination with diners. Your duties will include:

  • Aiding the Head and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Ordering of food
  • Carrying out stock checks
  • Ensuring the correct standards are in place and if not, to redirect and control.
  • Training of the junior chefs
  • Up keeping the high standards that are already in place
  • Menu planning

Previous experience in an establishment that was accredited with Rosettes or was Michelin listed, as a Chef de Partie. This position would suit a highly stable and committed individual looking to continue making a name within the industry. Must have NVQ level 1&2 or equivalent and a full understanding of food safety and hygiene. Applicants must be well presented and have strong leadership skills. It is also necessary that all applicants have a stable CV with excellent references. In line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Documented evidence of the eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.
