Underwriter - General Liability
Underwriting Liability & Construction Division
Stokesley, N Yorks
Salary Range £20-25k + benefits
This role involves working in a team of around 15 people dedicated to delivering excellent levels of service to our insurance broker customers. This service team is responsible for all aspects of policy underwriting and administration post sale including the negotiation of mid term adjustments and renewals.
Underwriters work within defined levels of authority and performance indicators linked to renewal retention, premium growth, account profitability and rating strength.
The business is very busy and consistently achieves 25%+ growth year on year. The environment is therefore vibrant and challenging whilst at the same time presenting opportunities for all staff looking to grow both with and beyond their current roles.
Personal development plans are agreed and regularly reviewed with investment being made in the training of people as well as support for completion of professional qualifications.
We are looking for team players with good negotiation skills and an analytical and commercial approach to decision making. Able to work as part of a team, IT skills are essential as well as the ability to quickly build and then develop relationships with customers.
The ideal candidate will be career focussed with a background in Underwriting in a Commercial or Liability led department.
