We are looking to recruit a proactive and organised person to provide clerical and administrative assistance to our Disability Co-ordinators. The main focus of the role will be to support the co-ordination of our Personal Assistant and Note-taking Schemes (Personal Assistants and Note-takers are support workers employed by the University to carry out a variety of tasks to enable disabled students to access their lectures, participate fully in their academic courses and access the University campus).
The Disability Assistant will be responsible for devising rotas for these support workers, assisting with the process of recruiting Personal Assistants and Note-takers and responding to enquiries from students and the support workers themselves about the schemes. More information about the role is provided in the job description.
You will also support other aspects of the work of the Disability Co-ordinators and of the Equality Service more broadly. For example, there are likely to be times when you will provide reception cover or work with our Support Team to assist with other aspects of the work of the various teams that make up the Equality Service.
