Position: MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER, PRODUCT DESIGN
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Salary:£40-£55k + pension+bonus+health care

The Person:
The Advanced Engineer performs creative and detailed design work on wellhead and valve systems. This involves developing solution concepts, calculating capacities, stresses, deflections, creating accurate layouts, selecting materials, presenting equipment designs to customers, designing for manufacture and solving field problems plus other work as assigned.
This may include laboratory design testing, travel to field locations, support of work in various regions and assistance to quality, sales, marketing, manufacture or other areas. The Advanced engineer often leads a design team and is responsible for the quality and timeliness of the team results. The equipment scope includes surface wellhead systems, trees, valves, bases, tooling and related oil tool components.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications either. B.S., M.S., or PhD in Mechanical Engineering and 8 or more years related experience or equivalent are required for this role. Through working knowledge of mechanics, pressure vessel materials, stress analysis, computer applications and machine design are required.
Creative equipment design and problem solving are key competencies. Knowledge of relevant API and ASME codes is necessary. Familiarity with analysis software and calculation programs such as Mathcad, as well as standard Office software and design software such as Inventor and Autocad are expected. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures and to effectively present information and respond to questions for groups of managers, customers, and coworkers is essential. Leadership and team building are parts of the job responsibility and important qualifications.
