    Title: Project Manager Salary: £30,000 - £42,000

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a public sector organisation based in Leeds city centre. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing and planning the delivery of projects, assisting with the development of new project ideas, related funding proposals and to provide flexible project management expertise to new projects.     The Role:
    In this full-time permanent position the Project Manager will be responsible for managing project staff, consultants and budgets - this may include line management of a Project Support Officer. Responsibilities will include co-ordinating project activity to ensure the project plan is up to date and deliverable; initiating, managing, supporting and controlling project budget and finances including managing the contract for funding, regular reporting ensuring that progress and performance are formally monitored against specific targets/milestones and collating contract claims; managing project controls to ensure the Programme or Portfolio/Lead Project Manager and Executive Director of Operations have the right information to control the programme or project portfolio; work with colleagues (internal stakeholders), employers, funding bodies and other stakeholders to ensure the project objectives will be delivered by the planned activity and to ensure all products are quality assured. In addition to this you will be working with the Programme Office to ensure the project is managed in accordance with policies, processes and standards, that information is required as requested by the Programme Office and to access support and advice; providing information and advice to employers and stakeholders on the projects, via a variety of means including presentations and meetings across the UK; providing a continuing flow of information to colleagues about project developments and to respond to other project related queries; and to assist in the development of new funded project ideas and proposals including preparing business cases and requirements specifications.

    Who we're looking for:
    We are looking for someone with previous experience of successfully managing public sector projects with PRINCE2 and/or adaptive methodologies and experience of partnership working with employers, policy makers and delivery organisations. The ideal candidate will ideally be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and have experience of managing a team. You must have experience of setting, forecasting and managing significant budgets, a working knowledge of the lifelong learning section, education sector or sector skills council, and the to manage a range of senior stakeholders in a complex environment. In addition to this you must have good presentation skills, contract management and negotiation skills, and will be proficient in MS Office.
